Capricorn Monthly Horoscope – February 2018
Weigh anchor, Capricorn. You need to plant your soles on solid ground and regroup. February begins in the tailwind of the January 31 total lunar eclipse in dramatic Leo, which swept through your eighth house of intimacy, secrets and merging. With a second eclipse arriving mid-February, it’s all the more important you get your bearings. Until then, you may still be rocked by potent feelings and an overall intensity.
January’s eclipse shone its harsh spotlight on your most important ties—from financial to sexual to emotional. Some Capricorns plunged into the depths with an engagement, a breakup, business merger or another major life event. Your system doesn’t always adapt easily to sweeping changes, especially when they happen in such a short amount of time. Eclipses can take a few days, or even weeks, to pan out. And in an odd twist, February has NO full moon (the next one is on March 1). Translation: It might take until next month for everything to really make sense.
And so it’s against this bold and befuddling backdrop that the shortest month of the year begins. Fortunately, the Sun is in Aquarius and your stabilizing second house until February 18. Simplifying is the name of the game now. Identify your top three priorities and focus your attention there. Handle the nuts and bolts of life by nailing down a schedule, tweaking your monthly budget and getting back into a routine. A methodical approach will serve you well, though you’ll need to remain flexible since eclipses can demand sudden adjustments.
On February 15, the Aquarius new moon arrives as a partial solar eclipse. Brace yourself for changes to your work, money and daily habits. A job offer could arrive out of the blue, or you could be tapped for an intriguing project that leads to a bigger, more lucrative opportunity later this year. Anything you embark on near this eclipse will culminate at the July 27 Aquarius lunar (full moon) eclipse. Don’t shy away from a daring move. Explore all realistic proposals, even (especially) if they’re outside your wheelhouse.
If you’re bored at your current gig or want to earn more, this eclipse prods you to veer off the beaten path. With your ruler, structured Saturn, now in Capricorn, you might look at school, mentorship or specialized training programs that will improve your skills and qualifications. Don’t be shy about asking your tribe for references and recommendations. The new moon also kicks off the Chinese Year of the Earth Dog. This fresh lunar cycle ushers in the spirit of collaboration. Sniff out your pack—then start chasing some goals together!
Whew! With all of this action happening, it would be easy to forget about Valentine’s Day…but we would never. This year, Cupid’s big moment coincides with a “balsamic” (nearly new) moon, a lunar phase when we all feel a little sleepy or low-key. The moon will be in Aquarius and your sophisticated second house this V-Day, so you might enjoy a nice but no-pressure dinner at a favorite bistro with a simple gift exchange. Just don’t force yourself to pull out all the stops. We recommend a MUCH more romantic makeup date a week later, when enchanting Venus and Neptune align on February 21.
You’ll feel more outgoing by then too, because the Sun enters Pisces and your social third house for a month on February 18. It’s a great month to mingle locally, meet for brainstorming sessions and see friends who’ve been waiting patiently for your schedule to open up. Got a big idea? Ask around for advice or join a class to bring your skills up to speed. You’ll probably feel more confident taking a risk when you’ve acquired some expertise. Keep your antenna up for kindred spirits now; you might meet someone whose skills complement yours perfectly. Strike up conversations with strangers instead of being standoffish. The genius copywriter for your new online platform could be seated next to you at the bar of the craft brewery or lingering at the coffee counter waiting for their matcha latte. Before you know it, a question like “Have you tried this brand of manuka honey before?” could lead to a synergistic meeting of the minds!
