The good. The bad. The leo man.
Leo men are the life of the party. Their cheery disposition and funny personality are sure to charm any crowd. Your friends love when you bring him around to any event because they know they’ll always be entertained. They’re also passionate and generous. Don’t let this one get away.
Here are some things you should know about loving a Leo.
1. He’s got a BAD case of wanderlust (that’s a GOOD thing)!
Go ahead and book that last minute trip to Key West! He’ll appreciate it. Leos LOVE to go on vacation and explore new cities and countries. You’ll never hear him complaining about going somewhere with you for the weekend. Just make sure they get some time for R&R too. Score!
Bi-monthly vacations are ok then, right?
2. He needs to know that you’re listening to him.
You’re a busy woman with a long list of responsibilities and priorities, but if you’re not putting your relationship on the top of that list, then things just won’t work out with him. He needs to know that you’re hearing him when he tells you that he wish you’d spend more time together.
Solution: schedule a time to go for lunch a couple times during the week or plan a romantic getaway for the two of you. Acknowledge that he has needs in the relationship too. It takes two to make a relationship work and two to tango (If you know I mean…).
3. He’s all about having a good time.
Don’t expect him to want to stay in most weekends and eat kettle corn and watch rom-coms with you. That’s just not who he is. He has the kind of personality that attracts people to him and allows him to make friends easily. He has a friend group for all sorts of activities that he likes to do and because of this he’ll never be happy with Netflix and chilling every night.
Don’t hold him back from having new adventures with his friends.
4. He has a taste for the finer things in life.
Marilyn Monroe got it right when she said that diamonds were a girls best friend, but they may also be your man’s best friend too. Whether it’s spending his money on a tricked out new BMW or staying up to date on the latest technology, he will spend the money where he thinks he needs to.
This could be a WINNING part of your relationship though. You’ll never hear judgment from him on how much you spent last month on clothes and pedicures because you could slap him right back with his expenses.
5. He appreciates the performing arts.
If you’re having trouble figuring out what to get him for his birthday, then think about getting him tickets to the theater. You don’t have to book a trip to NYC to see the shows on Broadway (although you could), the shows will come to you! Just look into what you think he’d most like to see and find out if there is a showing near you.
6. Sometimes he forgets other people exist.
They know it’s something they need to work on, but they can’t always help it. They have strong opinions about what they do and don’t like and just expect that you feel the same way. Compromise isn’t a word in his vocabulary, but you need to make it one.
He needs to learn that relationships are all about compromises. Doing things you like half the time and then doing things he likes the other times. This is the key to a happy, healthy relationship.
7. He LOVES when you notice the small things.
He’s a peacock. He spreads his feathers out wide in the hopes that people will tell him how handsome he is. He got a haircut yesterday and a new shirt the other day. These are the the types of things that he secretly wants you to notice and comment on.
All it takes it a compliment a day to boost his ego and make him a happy camper.
8. He’s a creative genius.
He may have an eye for design or be the next Vincent van Gogh, either way he needs the freedom and space to explore this side of himself. Artists like him always find all the beauty in the world that others miss. If you give him the chance, he’ll show you what he sees too.
Surprise him with a work space where he can work his magic or take him to the new exhibition at the museum. Appreciate what he does and who he is and he’ll love you even more.
9. He wishes every day could be a lazy Sunday.
Bruno Mars has this song about how he just doesn’t want to do anything. That might as well be his own personal anthem. Chores like taking out the trash and cutting the grass aren’t the kind of things you can expect him to do the first time you tell him. Which will drive you crazy because he loves hanging out and having fun with his friends. He’ll tell you he needs time to “recuperate” though.
Give him the space and enjoy doing things you know he doesn’t like to do with you in the meantime.
10. He’s too great at avoiding what he needs to face.
We’re all guilty of avoiding responsibilities from time to time, but he knows how to do it like a PRO. He’ll just keep dodging what he needs to face, making up excuses why along the way. He’ll lie and say he booked a place for his parents anniversary dinner, but in reality you’ll end up finding out the day before that he never did. You’ll want to scream at him and pull your hair out because you wish he would get his shit together, but in the end, you love him — despite all his faults.
